Pahang Local Foods.

Good day everyone....without further delay, i will continue sharing information about Pahang local foods. So, here's are some of the famous dishes that available at Pahang.


1. Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak.

  • As everyone know, this "Ikan Patin" have lot of mucus. So, tip for eliminate fishy and catfish slime is the smearing off with wheat flour. More effective than using tamarind/ lime.
  • To make it soup more tasty and strong, just add on some "tempoyak".

2. Nasi Kebuli.

  • It is an Indonesian style spicy steamed rice dish cooked in goat broth, milk and ghee, popular among the Arabic community in Indonesia and Betawi people in Jakarta.
  • The main ingredients are rice with minyak samin (ghee) spiced and served with goat meat.
  • It is usually served with asinan nanas (pineapple in spicy and sour sauce) or sometimes also topped with sambal goreng hati (cow liver in spicy sambal sauce) and sprinkled with raisins.

3. Paceri Nenas.

  • How to prepared?
  • First, heat the oil, then enter cinnamon bark and star anise. After that, enter the ingredients. When you fragrant then enter the bubbling hot water. After that, enter the spice curry, chilli powder and tamarind water.
  • After that, cook so spice curry oil rises. Then enter dried shrimp and let it in 5/6 minutes. Enter pineapple. Enter coconut milk, brown sugar and rustle if pineapple has a soft, just add salt.



4. Opor Daging.

  • Usually, people used meat as the main ingredients. But if you didn't like it, can replace it with chicken.
  • The spicy hundred need to fried without oil so rather crisp then refined

Famous "Ganu" Foods.


Helloooo... As usual, i will continue my entry about famous local foods.. Today, we're gonna know more about Terengganu's local dishes.

Terengganu food has shown the influence of Thai and taste. Terengganu has abundance of rice based dishes such as nasi dagang, nasi kunyit, nasi kuning, nasi berlauk, nasi lemak and nasi kerabu. There is laksam, laksa Terengganu, otak-otak, sata, ketupat sotong and kerepok lekor.

Here's are some of their popular dishes.



  • Keropok Lekor.

  • It is also called fish sausage, fish stick or fritters. It is made from fish and sago flour and seasoned with salt and sugar. It is slightly greyish in color and tastes fishly.
  • There are two types of Keropok Lekor; Keropok Lekor Goreng ( shaped into sausage size and tastes more chewy )and Keropok Keping ( shaped slices and has crispier texture).




  • Nekbat Terengganu.

  • It made from rice flour and eggs.
  • Nekbat are usually prepared in 2 phases. In the first phase, dough is baked and cooked until fluffy like bahulu but fresh and harder.
  • It cooked to be stored dry or sold to consumers who will provide it before serving. This dry Nekbat last longer and can be stored in the refrigator. 


  • Ketupat Sotong.

  • It also known as "Sotong Sumbat" and "Pulut Sotong".
  • It made from glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk.
  • The glutinous rice is cooked with coconut milk before squid stuffed into.

Popular Foods from Sabah.

Salam everyone...In my last entry, i have already shared some famous foods from peninsular (Malacca). So, today i will continue about Sabahan foods.  This is mainly due to the Sabahan partiality to all things tangy.

Here's a list of what you should look for when you're feeling Sabahan..:) ;)


1. Pinasakan.

  • It is also known as Pinasakan sada, is a traditional Kadazandusun dish of braised basung fish mixed with takob akob (a tangy wild fruit mainly harvested for its skin ), fresh turmeric, salt and slices of Bambangan (optional)
  • It is another type of preserved food and is good to be eaten sans heating for days at a time.


2. Tuhau.

  • It is a herbaceous plant that thrives in the island of Borneo, which have low-trunked trees kind of hard.
  • Styles of dishes.
  • Tuhau abound in Tambunan, Ranau, Keningan.
  • It is made of a type of wild ginger that is thinly diced, mixed with diced chili and diced scallion and pickled using salt and vinegar.



3. Ambuyat.

  • It is a traditional Brunei dish that is derived from the interior trunk of the sago palm.
  • Can eat together as serving lunch to replace rice. It delicious when eat with grilled fish, fish stew, salads.
  • Some people used dipped in sauce canned sardines mixed with shrimp paste, chillies and onions.



4. Bambangan.

  • The iban people in Sarawak called it "mawang".
  • Bambangan is a type of wild mango with brown skin and a somewhat punget smell. 
  • It is not eaten fresh as a fruit but made into a pickle or cooked with fish for a distinctive flavor.


Sabah has plenty of simple yet delicious dishes which are mainly pickled or preserved. Nonetheless, the cuisine continue to remain synonymous to Sabah's unique cultural identity.

Malacca's local food...

Hello again my beloved reader...Yesterday one of my friend had shared about her famous and favorite foods. Since she from Malacca, i listened to her with interesting and passionate.
Malacca also with centuries' old culture is a heaven for Chinese, Malay and Pearanakan dishes.

So, here's are the great Malaccan dishes (for her la)..


1.   Durian Cendol.

  • The dessert ingredients are coconut milk, jelly noodles made from rice flour with green food coloring (usually derived from the pandan leaf), shaved ice and palm sugar. And it also add on red beans, glutinous rice, grass jelly, creamed corn and durian (main ingredient).


2.  Satay Celop.

Satay celop is also known as steamboat satay, where sticks of raw or semi-cooked meat and vegetables are dipped into a boiling pot of gravy for several minutes.


3. Nyonya Asam Laksa.

  • It taste such a distinct fish-based broth, instead of just the spiciness and sourness from the assam laksa. The tuna, sardine and mackerel was used but the fish broth was certainly spicy, tangy and flavorful.
  • Each bowl contains a chockful of ingredients like prawns, egg, breancurd and also coconut milk.


4. Chicken Rice Balls.

  • It located at Chung Wah, Hoe Kee and Famosa (the famous place). 
  • The whole chicken that ordered was chopped up in a haphazard manner and drenched in a combination of light soy sauce and sesame oil.


5. Coconut Shake Klebang.

  • It only available in Klebang Beach, the shake is an ingenious drink made with everything coconut, coconut water and flesh gets blended with ice to produce it, and if you need something sweet, you need something sweet, you can opt for a dollop of vanilla ice-cream on top.


This dishes makes me scrumptious. I must go and try it myself.
