Local Foods From Selangor.

Hi and greet readers...So, as usual, today i'm gonna share the best list dishes in Selangor. Without further delay, let's look it one by one.

1. Lontong.

  • It is a dish made of compressed rice cake in the form of a cylinder wrapped inside a banana leaf, and commonly found in Indonesia also Malaysia and Singapore. 
  • The rice rolled inside banana leaf and boiled then cut into a small cakes as staple food replacementof steamed rice.
  • It is commonly called as nasi himpit in Malaysia.

2. Yong Tau Foo.

  • It is literal meaning as stuffed bean curd.
  • It also a Hakka Chinese food consisting primarily of tofu that has been filled with either a ground meat mixture or fish paste (surimi).
  • Variation of this food include vegetables and mushrooms stuff with ground meat or surimi.
  • It is eaten in numerous ways, either dry with a sauce or served as a soup dish.


3. Getuk Ubi.

  • The kuih is sold in the famous Bengawan Solo cake shop.
  • Instead of palm sugar, orange colored sugar was used.
  • The bottom white layer is made from cassava or tapioca and the top layer is made from shredded coconut and orange sugar.

Penang's Dishes.

Assalamulaikum and greet to all.. So, for my new entry is about Penang's Foods. You will regret it if you guys came to Penang but not to taste that i list down here. All the food was just gonna shred happily.

So, this are the list foods in Penang:


1. Nasi Kandar.

  • It is a meal of steamed rice which can be plain or mildly flavored, and served with a variety of curries and side dishes.



2. Mee Hokkien.

  • Hokkien mee is a dish in Malaysian and Singapore cuisine that has originated in the cuisine of Chini's Fujian province.
  • The dish consists of egg noodle and rice noodles stir-fried with egg, prawns and also squid, and servedand garnished with vegetables, small pieces of lard, sambal sauce and lime (for adding the lime juice to the dish).


3. Pasembur.

  • It is a Malaysian salad consisting of cucumber, potatoes, beancurd, turnip, bean sprouts, prawn fritters, spicy fried crab, fried octopus or other seafoods and served with a sweet and spicy nut sauce.


4. Rojak.

  • It is a traditional fruit and vegetable salads dish commonly found in Indonesia, Malaysia and also Singapore. The term Rojak itself is mixture according to Malay.

Kedah's Foods.

Assalamualaikum and good day as always...
In my last entry, i have already shared the famous food from Pahang.. So, today i will share the local dishes from North state (Kedah)..

So, let us go one by one...

1. Laksa Kedah

  • It consists of rice noodles, which is eaten with fish curry, cucumber and onion.
  • It is extremely tasty and made with exotic herbs, spices, vegetables and other ingredients,

2. Nasi Ulam.

  • The ulam were Selom leaves, leaf cenehom (kesom), Janggus shoots, shoots turmeric, cemumar, pennywort, KadoKu putat, King fish and etc.
  • It is an traditional food that were really popular among old people.


3. Pulut Inti.

  • It is yet a childhood easily available kuih and simple dessert that wrapped with banana leaf.
  • Inside the small pyramid shape, package is a mound of steam glutinous rice topped with inti (sweet coconut).

4. Tapai Pulut.

  • It taste sweet and sour.
  • It is also made wrapped with banana leaf.
  • The glutinous need to be cooled before wrapped it into the banana leaf, it will make more juicy and tasty.

Last word from me, give a try for our local variety food because you will not regret it. The foods are really delicious yet attractive.
