Perakian dishes

Hello guys!!! On my last entry, i have already share an information about local foods at Negeri Sembilan. Interesting right??

So, as for today i would love to share on Perak. Are you ready for that??
Without wasting more time, let's us look now.


  • Kerabu Pucuk Paku Kerang.

  • It is a cold salad of wild fern shoots (pucuk paku), onions, beansprouts, lemongrass and chilli tossed with poached cocles, giving it a spicy kick perfect as an appetizer.


  • Kerabu Daun Selom.

  • It is also known as water celery or water parsley, has hollow stems and celery-like leaves which smell like persley.
  • It widely eaten as ulam (raw) with sambal, while the leaves are famous for making salads. The daun selom salad was fragnant with grated coconut, dried shrimps and onions, while tangy from the addition of lime juices.


  • Sambal Tumis Tempel.

  • It is a product of natural culturing and fememtation of soybeans that bind them into a form a cake.
  • This ingredients has high content of protein and dietary fiber, making it a popular dish.


  • Siput Sedut Masak Lemak Cili Api Gopeng.

  • Also known as balitong, is a type of snail.
  • A traditional way of cooking this is with coconut milk, turmeric and chilli, resulting in a dish with rich and thick yellow gravy eaten with rice.

  • Udang Tumis Jawa Sungai Manik.

  • Got its name from the abudance of beads(manik) found on the banks of the river in the ancient times. The dish of Udang Tumis, or sauteed prawns was cooked with sambal and asam jawa, giving it a slight spicy and sour taste.

  • Popiah

  • It also known as spring roll, is made from paper-thin flour crepe filled with a variety of ingredients and rolled into a cylindrical shape.
  • It also filled with mainly jicama (sengkuang in Malay), lettuce, fried shallots and topped with plenty of peanuts.

Negeri Sembilan's Local Food.

Hi again viewers. So, today my main focus local food are from Negeri Sembilan. Everyone know that their food are known as hot and spicy, as one of the ingredients used is the chili padi, the hottest of chilli peppers.

So, here we go....


1. Masak Lemak Cili Api.

  • It is used fish, meat or vegetables cooked n coconut milk blended with turmeric and ground chili padi.


2. Rendang.

  • Usually, this Minangkabau Rendang is dark in color and rather dry and it more delicious when served with ketupat.


3.   Lemang.

  • It was made of glutinous rice, coconut milk and salt, cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick lined banana leaves in order to prevent the rice from sticking to the bamboo.

Local food in Johor

Good day dear reader. Today, i'm so glad that i will share a few foods that famous and available in Johor. So, enjoy the variety of foods below.


  • Nasi Ambeng.

  • It contains rice cooked with soy sauce chicken, mee goreng, fried vegetables Java, coconut and dried fish floss. 
  • Usually dried fish is a fish which is used chicken feathers.
  • Ambeng the original rice in banana leaf forest, and for mee, fried coconut floss also been placed in shhape of a boat Takir.


  • Kacang Pool.

  • It is thick toast served with a soft, bean sauce Pool also contains ground beef, onion slice, chili beef and eggs sunny side rocking. 
  • To boost the appetite, can also wring lime and making it more ummmmm.


  • Nasi Beriyani.

  • Usually, they used beef, but if there is no beef then we can change it to camel meat or horseflesh.


  • Mee racun.

  • It look like mee bandung.
  • Behind the mee racun, it have chicken, among other menu is goat.


  • Mee Siput

  • It is a kind of flour-baed processed products.
  • It using basic materials wheat flour kneaded with flour and kneading machine making noodle concoction then processes into noodles usual. This long yellow Mee would be rolling.

Popular food in Sarawak.

Hi readers.. In the last entry i have shared about variety of foods at Kelantan. So, today i would love to share about Sarawak dishes. Enjoy my post. :) :)

I have found a few variety of food that we must eat when we come to Sarawak.

So, here's are the list :

  1. Sarawak KoloMee.

  • Usually in a bowl of Kolo Mee we would expect a few things : Springy and oily noodles and Vegetable (Choy Sum) and Char Siew (usually of less fatty cut).
2.   Fried Oyster Pancakes.

  • This dish is a Chinese dish that is widely known in Taiwan, Fujian and many parts of Asia for its savory taste.
  • It also a hawker food commonly found in Singapore. 
  • It is sold usually together with those stalls sell the fried carrot cake.

3.    Kompia.

  • It is made with lard, onions, salt and flour. A ball of flour is stuffed with a filling of other desired ingredients and flattened with a rolling pin.
  • It was named after Qi Jiguang, who invented it, taking the idea from Japanese onigiri.

4.   Sarawak Laksa.

  • It is combination between Chinese and Malay cuisine.
  • It also consists of rice noodles or rice vermicelli with chicken, prawn or fish, served in spicy soup : either based on rich and spicy curry coconut milk, or based on sour asam (tamarind or gelugur) 


5.   Sarawak Kek Lapis.

  • It is a layered cake, traditionally served in Sarawak, Malaysia on special occasions. In the Malay language, they are know as kek lapis Sarawak, Kek lapis moden Sarawak, or simply Kek Lapis.


6.    Umai.

  • It is a dish consists of sliced raw fish with mixture of onion, chillies, salt and lime juice.
  • It also a traditional native dish for the Melanau people especially for the fishermen in Sarawak.

Heaven of foods (Kelantan).

Assalamualaikum and hi viewer. Today, i would like to share a little bit about the famous foods that popular at Kelantan. I know the famous food at there because i am Kelantanese girl.For me, Kelantan's foods are so interesting, colorfull and also unique.  So, i am going to list the most popular foods that you need try.



> Nasi kerabu

  • It is cooked with many types of herbs. Besides, there are many fresh herbs like daun kesum, bunga kantan (torch ginger), mint leaves (usually blue color) and etc.


> Nasi tumpang.

  • It is very similar to Nasi Lemak and Nasi Unduk (Indonesia) except that Nasi Tumpang is white rice pressed into a cone shape, layered with Kelantanese Serunding Daging and gulai lemak ikan tenggiri and then wrapped with banana leaf.

> Buah Peria.

  • It also seemed to be affixed to the Chinese of Wat Koo. The glutinous rice flour-based cakes and basically made a habit of green beans.

> Solok Lada.

  • Solok Lada is one of my favorite vegetable side dish Kelantan. This dish is green or red chili stuffed with grated coconut, fish fillet and cook in coconut milk. It is usually serve with Nasi Kerabu.
